The project treats the concentrate from the Deep Aquifer Treatments System (DATS) designed to treat groundwater high in color (>200 color units) and total organic carbon (>8 mg/L) in an aquifer within the Santa Ana River Groundwater Basin. A pilot study determined up to 85 percent of the concentrate flow from the DATS trains could be further concentrated with nanofiltration membrane elements, while still meeting the product water color and TOC goals.
Capacity: 0.5 mgd
Technology: Nanofiltration
SPI Role:
SPI performed design and construction administration, startup and operations support of the complete Concentrate Treatment System.
