The project was a first of its kind to use the Siemens CannibalTM Process and membrane bioreactor technology for biosolids minimization. The project involved replacement of the existing aerated pond treatment system with new facilities including coarse screening, grit removal, and fine screening; flow equalization; a new bioreactor with biological nutrient removal capability; membrane system; ultraviolet disinfection; and solids processing utilizing the CannibalTM biosolids destruction process; and centrifuges for solids dewatering.
